Schedule of Classes for Winter and Spring 2006

Adoption Series

To Register for any of the classes you must be an Orange County Social Services Agency concurrent planning family with a referral to the Bridge Builders program. If you are a Bridge Builders family and wish to register for a particular class - please complete and forward the registration form below. Notification will be sent upon receipt of your registration form of your subsequent enrollment in the classes you have chosen.

Bridge Builders offers two distinct types of educational classes, ‘Basic’ and ‘Advanced’.   Our Basic Adoption Series is offered conveniently on weekdays and weekends.  This series is taught in both English and Spanish.  The ‘Basic’ Series consists of Seven Core Classes, and are as follows:

Class 1 – Becoming an Adoptive Parent of Children with Extra Needs
Class 2 – Lifelong Issues in Adoption
Class 3 – Special Needs Child Development
Class 4 – Creating Positive Attachments # 1
Class 5 – Creating Positive Attachments #2
Class 6 – Parenting the Abused and Neglected Child
Class 7 – Parenting the Substance Exposed Child

After parents have completed the Basic Adoption Series, they are invited to take advantage of our ‘Advanced’ Curriculum.   As part of our Advanced Classes, we offer the Love and Logic Parenting Series.   This series is offered in six consecutive classes, the classes are as follows:

Class 1 – Raising Responsible Children
Class 2 – The Love and Logic Process
Class 3 – Control that is Shared
Class 4 – Ownership of the Problem
Class 5 – Opportunity for Thinking
Class 6 – Let the Consequences with Empathy Do the Teaching

     Basic Classes

  Wednesday Series
7:00-9:00 PM (for 7 consecutive Wednesdays)		   Saturday Series
9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, offered in two all-day sessions.
1 Start Date: : Jan 25, ending on March 8. 5 Start Date:  Jan 21, ending on
Feb 4.
2 Start Date: : March 29 ending on May 10 6 Start Date: Feb 25, ending on March 18
3 Start Date: May 31, ending on July 12 7 Start Date: April 22, ending on May 6.
    8 Start Date: May 20, ending on June 3.
4 Spanish Speaking Basic Adoption Series Classes are offered April 22 ending on April 29.

Series of 6 classes offered in the evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 PM
